The program tried to update to a version which had minimum support for Vista or it was in beta. In either cases, update to the latest version and you should be fine since the latest version is compatible with most of the operating systems .

You can download only the trial version for free. If you want the full version of NOD32 you need to buy it. On Eset support page you can find a guide which will help you to download and install NOD32 antivirus.

My problem is I can't configure NOD32 Smart Security on a LAN with 5 work stations to download update from a Single PC. I was told to install a mirror on the server machine but this seems not to work with my installation. How do I install it?

Answer by Sean Hill

You actually need to configure an Update Mirror on one computer and use Nod32 and Control Center. Click on the Mirror Setup and choose the location where the updates will be stored. Check the Windows versions where the updates will be installed from Files available. Do not enter a username and password at this time.

Once you complete this operation, go to each Work Station and use the Servers > Add server and configure the client to use the above created server. Click Update now and the process should start automatically.

I can't clean up my computer using NOD32. I want to know if I need another program. I don't know how to update the software. Can you tell me how to run it?

Answer by Pete Clapp

Launch the program, click the Update button and then Update virus signature database. Enter your username and password received when you purchased the software and follow the provided instructions. After that, from the Computer scan option, select Standard scan (to scan all your computer files) or Custom scan (to scan a specific partition, folder or file) and follow the on-screen steps. If your computer is not completely cleaned, temporarily disable NOD32 and use another security software to clean it.
